Intern & Trainee

United States

Program Length: 12-18 Months

About This Program

This program offers the opportunity to live in the U.S. while participating in a work-based training program. You will experience American culture, share your own cultural traditions with Americans, gain practical work experience, and make new friends and business connections. With guaranteed paid placement, our programs offer academic enrichment, work experience, and cultural experience for students and young professionals, while also helping employers find enthusiastic people who want to learn, grow and contribute.

We are an officially designated U.S. Department of State sponsor for the Exchange Visitor Intern and Trainee Programs. That means we understand the visa process and the requirements involved in receiving approval.

First, we do all the paperwork. We make certain that you meet the eligibility and program participation requirements. If you don’t, we help you understand what you need to do in order to qualify.

Second, we match you to a great position with an American business from within our network of partners. That business becomes your host employer. We work with some of the biggest corporations in America and we are selective about the companies we choose to become host employers.

Third, and most important, our job as your visa sponsor is to ensure that both parties, you and your host employer, are committed to mutual benefit and collaboration. This means we make sure that the opportunity is a good fit for you and for the host employer. We ensure that you get the most out of your cultural exchange experience and that your host employer is committed to you. Host employers are required under the program to provide you with the necessary work experience to learn the skills that will allow you to grow professionally.

What will I be doing?

We work with hundreds of employers across the U.S. and help people find positions with many different types of corporations and businesses. Some of the types of businesses that are hiring are:

  • Hotels
  • Amusement Theme Parks
  • Restaurants
  • Law Firms
  • Tech Companies
  • Accounting Firms

There are many opportunities and positions available with all types of qualified businesses – we can find something that is a perfect match for your own unique skill set and experience.

The best part of this internship is that I can learn … and I can apply that to an actual business. I think it’s a very good opportunity to me and most of all, I can work with my wonderful co-workers.

The U.S. is so big - where will I be working?

Hospitality programs: this will vary based on the position. We recommend candidates be flexible with their location choices, and we strongly encourage candidates to apply to multiple locations in the U.S.

Non-hospitality programs: ask your Account Manager/Agency about possible openings in new industries!

Who will help me find housing?

Some positions offer housing, and some do not. The good news is that we can provide you with housing recommendations. We inspect all our recommended housing options to ensure that the housing is affordable, safe, and close to your host company. Housing arrangements must be in place before arriving to the U.S.

Both your visa sponsor and employer must have your most current address and telephone contact information at all times while you are in the program.
